The Colibri Group got it’s start in 1928 when Julius Lowenthal founded the company. Throughout the 30’s and 40’s Colibri firmly established itself with a series of highly successful butane lighters including the Monopol and the Stormgard. Colibri even supplied the Golden Gun for the 1974 James Bond film, “The Man with the Golden Gun”, which was in part their Molectric 88 lighter.
Colibri moved their headquarters to New York in 2009 after a change in ownership and continues to be a leader in their industry by providing some of the purest butane available anywhere.
